How it works

The app’s brain, in plain words.

Melivos has no single path for everyone. It decides based on what you do, and always tells you why.

Same exercise, two people.

Peter and Jana are in the same topic. Each gave the app a different signal – and each gets a different next exercise.

TopicIn a café: ordering a coffee
Peter tapped “That’s a lot”
How do you say “coffee”?
el café el té
Why this: A bit lighter and shorter, to keep it pleasant.
Jana tapped “Too easy”
Order a coffee with milk in a full sentence.
Why this: Let us try something more challenging.

The Why this lines are the same ones the app shows with an exercise.

Three steps

Tell it what you want to manage

A café, work, travel. And what has got in the way of learning so far. You can skip sensitive questions.

The app checks where you are

Short exercises instead of a test. What it assumes about you, it keeps checking and correcting.

Every next exercise is for you

Each word is reviewed at its own pace, depending on how well you know it. You can steer it any time: lighter, harder, a break.

Why this one? With every exercise you see a short reason, for example “Last time it worked with a hint, today let us try without.”

Your profile is a hypothesis, not a label

From what you say at the start and from your answers, the app builds a picture: what comes easily, what is too much, how quickly you forget. Every estimate has a level of certainty and the app keeps checking it. What it thinks about you is in your profile, and you can correct it.

The next exercise is chosen for you

For every exercise the app weighs what needs review, what is new and what you can handle right now. The decision follows rules and can be explained – that’s why you see a Why this line.

Review based on how you do

Every word has its own rhythm: when you get it without hints it comes back less often, when you don’t, sooner. It counts as learned only after you practise it successfully.

You have the last word

  • That’s a lot – lighter exercises and no new words for a while
  • Too easy – a harder exercise
  • I’m lost – a step back to what already works, with a hint right away
  • I need a break – stop right away, nothing is lost, continue whenever you like

What AI does and doesn’t do

A language model helps with conversation, explanations and sentence variants. It doesn’t decide your plan – rules that can be checked do.

Frequently asked questions

How much time do I need each day?

Five minutes is enough. A quick start takes a few minutes and brings at most two new words. When it flows, keep going – you decide when to stop.

What if I skip a few days?

Nothing is lost and you don’t lose a streak, because there are no streaks. After a longer break you start with what you already know.

Do I have to tell the app I have ADHD?

No. We don’t ask about diagnoses and you can skip sensitive questions. The app adapts to what you do, not to a label. More on the Unique brain page.

Does the app record my voice?

Only when you answer by voice in a practice conversation. The recording is transcribed and not kept.

Does artificial intelligence decide how I learn?

No. The next exercise is chosen by rules that can be checked, and you always see why you got it. A language model helps with conversation and explanations.

Which languages can I learn?

Today Spanish and English, taught in Slovak, with more on the way. See languages.

Try it yourself.

Five minutes is enough to start.
